EcoGathering Joy & Delight

Register here!

We spoke about rage for the last couple weeks, which emerges amidst the swell and collapse of an economic system premised on endless, exhaustive exploitation with no regard for the sacred. Capitalism strips everything - everything - of forms of value that cannot make a profit. Joy is about seeing - really seeing, really loving, really celebrating, dwelling on, writing about, laughing about, crying about together - everything in this weird, wonderful world that cannot make a profit. Joy, in other words, is rebellion. Reckless, beautiful rebellion. Rebellion that we practice together.

We typically include a couple resources we recommend you check out before we gather, and this time, we'll be a little bossy and insist that you do. They're special ones. We think you'll like them. And no one explains or explores joy like Ross Gay does.

Recommended resources for this EcoGathering:

  1. Ross Gay: Catalog of Unabashed Gratitude

  2. Ross Gay: #14: "Joy is Such a Human Madness" from The Book of Delights

  3. Ross Gay: “Introduction” and “We Kin” from Inciting Joy
